Repeated throughout scripture are stories of God using the enemies of Israel to bring the people back to Him. We are still God’s people, and, as in ancient times, as a believing community of faith, we have wandered far from our GOD and His way for us to live. As people of faith, priests before YHVH, it is time to take up the censer (Rev 1:6; 5:10), and stand between the dead and the living, so that the plague might be stopped, (Num 16:46-48).
The following words were penned by the prophet Ezekiel over 2500 years ago, but they are as relevant to our situation today as the day they were written.
Ezekiel 22:26-31, Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.
Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain.
And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD,’ when the LORD has not spoken.
The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice.
And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
Therefore, I have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
So, you want to take a place on the wall? Then…
REPENT! The Big 5
Anger and Rage — Ephesians 4:26, 27, “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. (Vs.29) Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. (Vs.30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (Vs.31) Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. (Vs.32) Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Depression = Shadows. Psalm 23:4 is a promise, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Yeshua is LIGHT. In Him is no darkness. “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Incubus and Succubus = demonic spirits. These spirits use lust, pornography, adultery, fornication, prostitution, masturbation as gateways into one’s life. They often come at you in your dream state and/or just as you are waking up. James 4:7 tells us to “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Don’t give the devil a way to defeat you, (Ephesians 4:27).
The Evil Eye = Bondage to Envy. Exodus 20:17, the 10th commandment, “Do not want anything that belongs to someone else. Don’t want anyone’s house, wife or husband, slaves, oxen, donkeys or anything else.” “Keeping up with the Jones’s” is a manifestation of Envy. This almost always leads to debt bondage which opens the door to further infestation.
The Evil Tongue = Gossip. Yeshua admonished us in Matthew 5:37 to, “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.” Our tongues are small too, and yet they brag about big things. It takes only a spark to start a forest fire! The tongue is like a spark. It is an evil power that dirties the rest of the body and sets a person’s entire life on fire with flames that come from hell itself. But our tongues get out of control. They are restless and evil, and always spreading deadly poison. (James 3:5-6, 8)
PUT ON GOD’S ARMOR
Ephesians 6:10-17, “Let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil’s tricks. We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. So, put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.
Be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God’s justice protect you like armor.
Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.
Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Let God’s saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God’s message that comes from the Spirit.
To effectively (James 5:16), wear God’s armor requires time spent building a relationship with Him through study and in prayer and meditating on His Word.
TAKE YOUR PLACE ON THE WALL
This is foremost — Ephesians 6:18, Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.
And this is just as important — that we engage in spiritual warfare. For this season pray for the defeat/destruction of the spirit of “Amalek” of which Exodus 17:6 says that “the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” This “Amalek” spirit, that wages war against the children of God has gotten much to strong, proud and arrogant. It needs to be exposed to the light of Yeshua. Darkness cannot stand where Light is!
When we engage in spiritual warfare against the spirit of “Amalek”, we DO NOT name names for Yeshua told us to pray for our enemies, to pray for their salvation first and foremost, and then for God’s will to be done. But, against our spiritual enemies, we can pray the imprecatory psalms. Against the spirit of “Amalek” (Eph 6:12), we are praying God’s living word back to Him for the defeat of this enemy of His people.
Here are the first six of the Imprecatory Psalms, others are and will continue to be posted on Facebook @71Longview FLASH Prayer. Let’s join together and push back against this “Amalek” darkness!
The Imprecatory Psalms
Psalm 5:10 — Hold them guilty, O God; by their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, for they are rebellious against Thee.
Psalm 6:10 — All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled; they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.
Psalm 7:6 — Arise, O LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.
Psalm 9:19-20 — Arise, O LORD! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! Put them in fear, O LORD! Let the nations know that they are but men! Selah.
Psalm 10:2, 15 — In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor; let them be caught in the schemes that they have devised. (Vs. 15) Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call his wickedness to account till you find none.
Psalm 17:13-14a — Arise, O LORD! Confront him, subdue him! Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword, from men by your hand, O LORD, from men of the world whose portion is in this life.
