Morphing into Orcs?

Shir Le From Darkness Into Light Tags: , , , , , , ,

An Orc is an imaginary creature akin to a very ugly, violent human.

“The descent to hell is easy and those who begin by worshiping power, soon worship evil.” C.S. Lewis

Iniquity is a matter of morals defined by On-line dictionary: a person’s standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do; (moral) ethical, virtuous, righteous, noble, conforming to a standard of what is right and good, moral implies conformity to established sanctioned codes or accepted notions of right and wrong. And from the website Ethics Unwrapped they offer this definition: Morals are the prevailing standards of behavior that enable people to live cooperatively in groups. Moral refers to what societies sanction as right and acceptable. Morals are the principles that guide individual conduct within society. They are the standards of behavior that we use to judge right and wrong.

Psalm 125 They that trust in Yahweh shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides forever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so Yahweh is round about his people from henceforth even forever. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Do good, O Yahweh, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Yahweh shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

Iniquity — from Strong’s H5765 means, moral as in (evil); perverseness, unjust(ly), unrighteousness(ly), wickedness. Isaiah 26:9-10, With my soul I desired You in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly and will not behold the majesty of Jehovah.

Psalm 92:7-9 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity blossom, it is that they shall be destroyed forever; but You, Yahweh, are high forever. For, lo, Your enemies, O Yahweh; for lo, Your enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Worker — from Strong’s H6466, to do or make (systematically and habitually), especially to practice: commit [evil], do(er), make(r), ordain, work(er), wrought.

Of iniquity — from Strong’s H205, from an unused root perhaps meaning properly to pant (hence to exert oneself usually in vain, to come to naught); strictly nothingness; also trouble, vanity, wickedness; affliction, evil, false, iniquity, mischief, unjust, unrighteous.

A worker of iniquity then, is one who systematically and habitually exerts oneself in practices of vanity, trouble, evil, wickedness, mischief, things that will bring no good end.

At Mount Sinai Yahweh codified ordinances, a principle governing action or procedure, for the children of Israel so they could live cooperatively within their community.

From the Merriam-Webster On-line Dictionary: Ordinances are law, rule, regulation, precept, statute, a principle governing action or procedure — law implies imposition by a sovereign authority and the obligation of obedience on the part of all subject to that authority.

Yahweh’s ordinances that instruct us how we should live are not difficult or odious, they are meant for our well-being; (Exodus 23:25) “But you shall serve Yahweh your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I (Yahweh) will remove sickness from your midst.”

But iniquity and the workers of iniquity pervert the ordinances of Yahweh. What was meant to keep us on the straight and narrow path has been made crooked and broad. Matthew 7:13-14  Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it. Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Act 13:9-10  Then Saul (who is also Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him and said, O son of the Devil, full of all deceit and all craftiness, enemy of all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? Or will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?

Good and right laws that govern nations around the world are patterned after what is found in the first 5 books of the Bible known as the Torah; i.e., laws about taking the life of another, being a truthful witness, establishing boundaries, etc. These ordinances teach us how to live cooperatively, in ways that show we are willing to help or do what people ask; to be together with other people, all helping each other, within our communities. It is a way we live that promotes harmony and togetherness, a spirit of cooperation. It does not suggest conformity where we all dress the same, eat the same, have the same interpretations about events and circumstances, but where we come together relationally, despite differing opinions, to find solutions.

When we don’t come together for the benefit and blessing of our community we fall prey to the workers of iniquity who twist or pervert Yahweh’s design of holiness and righteousness for His people, causing us, as Yahweh’s children, to become perverted or twisted. Yahweh told Adam his purpose was to tend and keep the Garden and when Yahweh gave Adam a help-meet, his wife Eve, they were to be fruitful and multiply. Think of these four words or instructions, tend, keep or cultivate, fruitful and multiply that Yahweh gave Adam and Eve from a spiritual perspective; tend — to behave in a particular way or have a particular characteristic — be holy as I AM holy (Leviticus 11:44). Keep or cultivate — make a special effort to establish and develop a relationship, to try to acquire or develop (a quality, sentiment, or skill), James 1:21-22,  Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  Fruitful — fruit is the direct result of whatever controls our heart; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, (Galatians 5:22-23). Yashua told us in John 15 that He is the vine and we are the branches, if we remain in Him we will bear much fruit. The goal is “much fruit” as Yashua uses us to bring about blessings to a lost and fallen world. Multiply — to increase or cause to increase greatly in number or quantity. Matthew 13:23, As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. But do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolator, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the LORD.

And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.” (Ephesians 5:1-13)

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish but understand what the will of the LORD is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17)

And this awesome promise from Jeremiah 31:32-34  is ours in Yashua, “Behold, the days are coming, declares YAHWEH, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares YAHWEH. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares YAHWEH: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know YAHWEH,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares YAHWEH. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

There is a lot going around today that, if you buy into it, will morph you into an Orc, as in Tolkien’s trilogy, The Lord of the Rings; a perversion or twisting from Yahweh’s original design for you. These perversions are, but not limited to: Pastors preaching anti-Biblical doctrine as truth, making claims that have no validity; politicians advocating violent civil disobedience; news outlets fabricating “whole cloth” stories from fragments and discards; entitlements as in “give me what I want in exchange for no obligations on my part”, indoctrination in our schools concerning the tenents of a particular religion and/or way of life opposed to America’s Judeo-Christian ethic.

Psalm 9:16  YAHWEH  has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.

Don’t let Psalm 9:16 be you. But rather this: Micah 6:8, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does YAHWEH require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God!”

Yashua is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE! Follow Him and you will never morph into a very ugly, violent man, or woman.
