When Moses encountered YHVH at the “burning bush” this is part of YHVH’s plan for Israel’s deliverance:
Exodus 3:21-22, “I will grant this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. “But every woman shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. Thus you will plunder the Egyptians.”
At the beginning of Israel’s journey to the land of promise YHVH put in place provision for His Tabernacle where He would dwell among the children of Israel. To the women was given the task of collecting the provision that was used in the construction of the wilderness Tabernacle. The women were to ask; Yashua says in Luke 11:9-10, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.”
Trust YHVH’s plan for your life; it is perfect in every detail!
Exodus 4:2-5, The LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “A staff.” Then He said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. But the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail”–so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand– “that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”
What is in your hand? Are you afraid of it? When Moses’ staff became a serpent, he ran from it; a natural flight or fight response, but YHVH told him to confront his fear and pick the snake up. In doing so fear was vanquished and faith was established. James 4:7, “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
Psalm 8:4-6, “What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet…”
Psalm 47:3, “He subdues peoples under us and nations under our feet.”
YHVH told Moses to pick the serpent up by the tail. Why by the tail, not a very safe move in my opinion! But looking at this act through a spiritual lens we see that in Genesis the serpent was the instrument through which hasatan deceived Eve. By picking the serpent up by the tail YHVH, I believe, was demonstrating to Moses that hasatan, that serpent of old, was under his feet.
What fear have you confronted that is now under your feet? Keep it there!
Psalm 94:14-15, For the LORD will not abandon His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance. For judgment will again be righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Luke 11:36, “If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.”
