Exodus 7:3-5, “But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. “When Pharaoh does not listen to you, then I will lay My hand on Egypt and bring out My hosts, My people the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments. “The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from their midst.” These things were to happen so that EVERYONE will know that I AM YHVH!
As a people of frailties and weaknesses we are often tempted to think, “why do bad things happen to good people,” and then judge YHVH with harshness and much criticism. Rav Shaul says in Philippians 4:4 to, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” He goes on to say, “Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing…” Do not fear little flock, YHVH is working everything out for His glory and you in your tribulations and trials are a part of that working out!
2Samuel 24:10, “Now David’s heart troubled him…” When an action we’ve taken causes our peace/shalom to flee it is best to recognize what we have done by way of sin, take responsibility for our actions, repent, renounce, and ask for our transgression to be removed. But, our actions always have consequences so do what David did; verse 14, “Let us now fall into the hand of the LORD for His mercies are great.” It is better to trust YHVH than man!
Luke 13:24-27, “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. “Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ “Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.’
Beware, lest you become so consumed with life and ministry that you miss entering in!
Luke 14:33-35, “So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions. “Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? “It is useless either for the soil or for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
